THE FIRST ZERO-WASTE STORE IN NOSARA, COSTA RICA
Common Goods is a zero-waste store providing plastic-free and sustainably sourced food and living products to the Playa Guiones community. The store offers customers the opportunity to easily and confidently live out their environmental and health-conscious values every single day.
Founder, Caroline Powers, wants to live with respect for the Earth and help others learn how to do so too. With a young son, her goal is to raise him to treat the Earth, himself, and others well. These ideals inspired Caroline to learn how to live a zero-waste lifestyle herself. But, when she tried to do so, she realized it was impossible to get everyday staples without plastic packaging.
This issue compelled her to open Common Goods – as a way to educate and empower her community, helping them to shop sustainably and locally, minimizing their footprint and preserving the natural beauty of Playa Guiones.

A Simple Symbol.
The sun is the source of all energy and life on Earth, and like the sun, Common Goods will be a source of energy for its customers, the producers, and the wider community.
When we think of the sun, we naturally think of warmth, happiness, and positivity – all the qualities we want people to see in the brand.
